- Combining excellent nursing and medical care with holistic support that recognises practical, emotional, social and spiritual needs
- Maintaining support systems to help patients live as actively as possible until death
- Respecting the patient’s autonomy and choice, such as place of care and the various treatment options
- Supporting the family and those who matter to the patient during the illness and in bereavement
- Sharing truthful information about diagnosis, treatmemt and prognosis with patients in an attentive and non-intrusive way
- Cooperting and collaborating with other professionals and support agencies, in particular primary health care teams and hospitals
- Disseminating knowledge by providing ongoing multi-professional educational training programmes
- Recognising and valuing the contribution of all volunteers
All hospice services are free of charge to patients and their families
