The Day Therapy Unit provides an informal environment for patients who live at home but who can benefit from the support of our experienced palliative care nursing team in the hospice.
This is a relaxed and safe environment for up to 15 patients a day, the Day Hospice is active each Monday, Wednesday and Thursday throughout the year. In most instances, a patient will visit the Day Hospice one day a week.
Day care
Transport is provided both to and from the hospice.
In addition to care from our medical staff, patients can make the most of their day at Foyle by choosing from a wide range of services offered by a multidisciplinary support team.
Referrals for the Day Hospice are made to our medical office and assessed on an individual basis. The family doctor is responsible for the medical care of people living at home - we always ask that the family doctor has agreed to our involvement before we accept a referral.
